Ford Wins 2nd Straight NHRA Manufacturers Cup

* For the second-consecutive year, Ford won the battle of the Manufacturers in the NHRA Full Throttle Series, the world’s fastest motorsport.
* Led by the six-car, 8,000-horsepower Mustang teams of John Force Racing, Tasca Racing and Tim Wilkerson Racing, and the growing ranks of Cobra Jet Mustangs winning rounds and races in the Lucas Oil Series for sportsman, team Blue Oval built a sizable lead, easily out-distancing Chevrolet, Dodge and Toyota.

Led by the six-car, 8,000-horsepower Mustang teams of John Force Racing, Tasca Racing and Tim Wilkerson Racing, and the growing ranks of Cobra Jet Mustangs winning rounds and races in the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series for sportsman, team Blue Oval built a sizable lead, easily out-distancing Chevrolet, Dodge and Toyota.
Tim Duerr, marketing manager of Ford Racing, accepted the award, Ford’s fifth in the sport, at the NHRA Full Throttle Series Awards Ceremony in Hollywood, Calif. Monday, after the Auto Club Finals in Pomona, Calif.
“Thank you to all the teams that race Fords and made this Manufacturers Cup a reality,” Duerr said. “Without your efforts and hard work we would not be here. Thank you to NHRA and all the race teams who have gone further with their Fords to bring us the Manufacturers Cup.”
