2001 Mustang Bullitt

In a throwback to the 1968 movie Mustang that bore its name, Ford launched the 2001 Mustang Bullitt GT after a concept version had won acclaim at the 2000 L.A. Auto Show. Based on the 2001 Mustang GT, the limited-production Bullitt featured a 4.6-liter V-8 tweaked for better airflow and power, including a cast-aluminum intake, twin 57-mm bore throttle body and high-flow mufflers.

Team Mustang also gave Bullitt a firmer, lowered suspension for tighter handling, as well as special exterior enhancements and interior touches meant to capture the spirit of the movie car. Unique wheels, "Bullitt" badging and a brushed-aluminum fuel-filler door helped complete the look, with a factory serialized identification label included to verify each 2001 Bullitt as a true collectible.
