Gronholm's Team Releases Statement On His Condition

Global Rallycross driver Marcus Gronholm remains hospitalized in Los Angeles after his accident during the seeding round of the Rallycross competition at X Games 18 last weekend. His team released the following statement on Monday regarding his condition:

After two days of medical attention and rest, Marcus Grönholm is making good progress in hospital following his accident sustained during the X Games GRC seeding round on Saturday in Los Angeles.
 
Marcus is alert and talking and his doctors have confirmed that the early start to his recovery after his admittance to hospital on Saturday has continued with another positive update on his condition earlier this morning.
 
Following the accident, Marcus was for a period unconscious and accordingly one area of medical focus has been to monitor for any repercussions from this injury. Other precautionary checks including a full body scan and related tests confirm that Marcus has full limb mobility, but a bone compression which requires treatment. Consistent with this type of accident, Marcus sustained a number of other injuries that have also improved since his admittance. Accordingly, Marcus will remain in hospital under medical supervision to continue his recuperation.
