Best Buy Mobile is excited to announce that it has signed Timur Timerzyanov, the 2012 FIA European RallyCross Champion, to drive the Best Buy Mobile Ford Fiesta MK7 in the final round of the Global RallyCross Championship at SEMA in Las Vegas on Oct. 30.

 
“When Marcus Grönholm (pictured above with his GRC livery) confirmed that he wasn’t available for SEMA, we wanted a rallycross driver of the very best calibre,” said Mark Williams, who manages Best Buy Mobile’s rallycross programme. “And we very quickly landed on Timur who dominated the 2012 European RallyCross Championship,” he added.
 

Timerzyanov who comes from Tatarstan in the Russian Federation and will be making his debut in both a Ford and competing in the United States. However, he will renew his familiar battle with American Tanner Foust, a contest that has raged across Europe for the past two seasons. After winning the Championship (with Foust third), Timerzyanov comes to Foust’s home turf determined to close out the rallycross season with a winning GRC performance.

 
“I am excited by this opportunity to race in America and to try the Ford Fiesta Mk7 that Tanner has used against me all year,” said 25 year-old Timerzyanov. He continued, “GRC runs very different courses to those I am used to, but I know the Best Buy Mobile Ford Fiesta is a really good car, so I expect to be at the front of the field.”

Action at SEMA gets underway with testing on Sunday, Oct. 28, followed by heats on Monday and finals on Tuesday.
