V8 Supercar Series Finds Passionate Fans In Texas

AUSTIN, Texas  --
They de-planed, some after flights totaling 27 bleary-eyed hours. They qualified and raced their tin-tops hard, twice each day in sultry conditions. They ate at The Salt Lick Bar-B-Que and drank New Glarus beer.


And most of the blokes involved in the Australian V8 Supercars Championship at Circuit of The Americas aren’t in any hurry to go home. Call it an extended victory tour for series regulars after the inaugural Texas 400 weekend. Austin and its expanding motorsports fan base welcomed the Aussies and their Ford Falcon vs. Holden Commodore rivalry with open arms, not to mention at least one pickup truck.
