After scoring a record seven IMSA Championships, veteran road racer Scott Pruett will sit behind the wheel of the No. 01 Ford EcoBoost Riley Prototype for his 12th season of sports car racing for Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates in 2015 in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship with new teammate Joey Hand.
The Sacramento, California native continues his assault on the sports car record books this season, and continues to extend his record as the all-time leader in IMSA wins with 59 victories.
The seven-time IMSA Champion (2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013) and record five-time Rolex 24 At Daytona Winner’s (1994, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2013) resume boasts nearly every major racing series including NASCAR, CART, IMSA GTO/GTU/GTP, SCCA Trans Am and IROC, where he accumulated 12 major championships. From his first title in 1981 at the World Karting Championship to his latest IMSA Sports Car Series Championship, Pruett is still a force to be reckoned with in the world of racing.
The 54-year-old Pruett is showing no signs of slowing down, and again remains one of the men to beat as the 2015 racing season opens up. The former Indianapolis 500 Co-Rookie of the Year (1989) and Olympic Torchbearer (2002) has authored four children’s books with his wife Judy. He owns and runs his own winery called Pruett Vineyard in Auburn, California, where he resides with his wife and three children.
