The champ comes to Ford Racing. Brad Keselowski, who won 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship in only his third full season, begins his first year with Ford and fourth at Penske Racing.

The 2012 season saw Keselowski produce career best results on the way to his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series title and the first for car owner Roger Penske.  The championship was the second for Keselowski under the Penske banner after he claimed the NASCAR Nationwide Series crown in 2010.

Keselowski recorded a career-high five NSCS victories in 2012, including regular season wins at Bristol, Talladega and Kentucky, and two victories during the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup at Chicago and Dover in the famed “Blue Deuce”. Keselowski also set career bests with 13 top-five and 23 top-10 finishes as well as 735 laps led.  In addition to his Cup championship, Keselowski earned three NNS wins to give him a total of 14 over the last two seasons.

* Keselowski was raised in an environment where spending time at the race shop and the track was just a way of life. His father, Bob, was a 1997 race winner in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS). His uncle, Ron, competed at the NSCS level in the early 1970s.

* Keselowski drove the truck operated by his family’s team for eight NCWTS races in 2004. The following season, he ran the full truck schedule and had a best finish of seventh, which he recorded in February at Daytona International Speedway.

* A native of Rochester Hills, Mich., Keselowski now resides in Charlotte, N.C.

DID YOU KNOW?

Brad Keselowski is one of only two drivers in NASCAR history to win the NASCAR Nationwide and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championships.  The other is Bobby Labonte, who won the then-NASCAR Busch Series title in 1991 before claiming the then-NASCAR Winston Cup championship in 2000.
